How to Overcome Self Doubt

We all have done this thing once in a life and maybe still we are doing it.

Self doubt

Self doubt is another habit that makes us mentally weak and lowers our confidence and you can get rid of self doubt. It's hard but not impossible.

No matter what your situation is, there are so many people out there who have been through it. Practising self doubt is common no one believes in themselves.

That's the point where a person starts lacking confidence and becomes mentally weak.

What is self-doubt?

Self-doubt is the act of questioning yourself. So when you feel like you're not good enough for something, when you don't think you can do something, when you think someone else is better than you, that's self-doubt.

In simple words it just means lacking confidence in yourself while doing something important.

There are many people who have insecurity and self-doubt. Most people have it to some extent.

But what does self-doubt feel like? How does it manifest? What are some things that cause it? Let's find out.

When we doubt ourselves, we might start feeling weak or powerless. Sometimes, this will show up in our body language: slumping over or crossing our arms tightly across our chest. We might get more tentative in how we speak or move around.

We may also feel really hesitant about taking risks or doing anything new because of the fear of screwing it up again and being reminded of how bad we already feel inside.

How do you know if you have it?

There are some signs that may point to whether or not you have insecurity and self-doubt. You may feel unimportant, unworthy, and even anxious at times. You might also feel like the world is against you and that life isn't fair.

If you think you might have some of these feelings of yours, then it's time to take a good look at your life and see what needs to be changed. You need to find new ways to cope with whatever is bothering you.

Try setting small goals for yourself if things seem really hard - remember that little steps lead up to big changes!

It can be difficult, but remember: YOU ARE WORTH IT!

Why do we experience self-doubt?

It's normal to have moments of self-doubt. It happens to all of us. The question is, why? Most people experience self-doubt because they are too focused on the past or what other people think about them.

We can't change the past, so dwelling on it will only bring you down and make you feel worse about yourself. And focusing too much on what other people think about you will lead you into thinking that their opinions are more important than your own thoughts and feelings. So why not put the focus back onto yourself?

Fear is another reason for self-doubt.

Fear can take many forms: fear of getting hurt, fear of rejection, fear of forgetting something, etc. Whatever the fear may be, it will always cause some kind of doubt in your mind. The problem is not with the fear itself but with what you do with it after it appears - do you let it control you or do you push through?

The next time that feeling hits that tells you that something is wrong or that you're not good enough, try these tips to help overcome your feelings:

  • Identify what is making you insecure or doubting yourself.

  • Ask yourself if this thought is true.

  • Remind yourself that nobody has a perfect life and nobody.

  • Expect yours to be perfect.

  • Tell someone else how they're making a difference in your life.

  • Do something for somebody else
