Being lazy and being active all lies in our head. It's up to you how you deal with your monkey mind because you know it's easy to count the number of stars but it's hard to know what your mind is thinking.
Our mind has infinite thoughts that have no end. Do you know it's hard to control it?
So from the above conclusion we can say that it's hard to control our mind but not impossible.
There are two specific ways to do control your mind
If there is any way we can make your work interesting, then our brain would like to do it.
Know it can happen but you see you can't make your boring work interesting, like for example you are given to type the data on excel sheet, how would you make it interesting ?

As I have said earlier, this is the world of competition and everyone wants to win so everybody tries to improve themselves.
They search for a reason to start working on their goals, they search for a fire, they search for spark and this is the point where people go for motivation and not to opt for discipline in life.
How to escape from the problem of motivation ?
See in order to overcome lack of motivation you have to depend on yourself to start your work, don't think for a reason to start working.
Be a reason for your goals, just be focused and work hard, don't search for spark and fire.
This is the biggest mistake that we all make. We search for motivation, we search for fire and then we fool ourselves by watching youtube videos.
Remember one thing there is nothing like motivation, just thinking about your goals and making a plan will not earn you success, you have to work hard.
The possible way to replace motivation
The best way to avoid the problem of motivation is to stay disciplined, be disciplined in life.
If you have to do something then just do it, don't think for time, don't think for situations, if you wanna do then just do it.
Disciplined, have discipline in your thoughts, have discipline in your actions.

The 2 min Rule
A study on motivation says that we feel lazy not to do our work , but we feel lazy to take that initial first step.
If anyhow we are able to take that initial step then we can easily do our rest of the work. So what you have to do is ;
Just start doing your work for just 2 mins, for example if you want to read a book then just read for 2 mins.
Then you will not feel bored to do that particular work you kept on doing and doing.
That's all and this technique actually works.
